The Indiana Pacers went into the break with the best straight-up record in the Eastern Conference (40-12) and a 2.5-game lead over Miami for the No. 1 seed in the playoffs. They will be back in action Tuesday night against the Atlanta Hawks, who have fallen to fifth place in the East with a five-game losing streak that has dropped them below .500 on the year to 25-26.

NBA Season Approaches the All-Star Break

The NBA cuts its schedule short this week with no games scheduled for Friday through next Monday for its annual All-Star Break, and the NHL has suspended play in its regular season for the next two weeks as players head to Sochi to play hockey for their countries in the Winter Olympics.
