BCS Finale Highlights Sports Betting Week Ahead

The first full week of the New Year starts things off with a bang this Monday night with the BCS Championship Game in college football. The Saints covered as 3-point road underdogs in a 26-24 victory over Philadelphia in this past weekend’s Wild Card Round.

Later on Saturday night, the Indianapolis Colts will square off against the New England Patriots in Foxborough as 7-point underdogs. The total for this game has been set at 53. The Colts overcame a 21-point halftime deficit against Kansas City with a dramatic 45-44 victory this past Saturday as 1.5-point home underdogs on 5Dimes closing betting line for that game.

Sunday’s doubleheader action kicks things off with San Francisco on the road against Carolina as a slight 2-point favorite. The 49ers ousted Green Bay 23-20 as 3.5-point road favorites on a last-second field goal in Sunday’s Wild Card matchup. The total stayed UNDER the 47-point closing line in that game and it has been set at 43 for the matchup against the Panthers.

For the third time this season the San Diego Chargers and the Denver Broncos will play one another, but this time it is for a trip to the AFC Championship Game. The Broncos beat San Diego on the road and lost to them at home as heavy favorites in each game. This time around they have been opened as 10-point favorites at home with the total set at 54.5. The first two meetings stayed UNDER the closing total betting line on 5Dimes NFL board.

The NBA features a Wednesday night doubleheader on ESPN with Dallas heading cross state to face San Antonio in a 7 p.m. ET tip followed by Phoenix on the road against Minnesota at 9:30 p.m ET. Thursday’s doubleheader on TNT sends Miami on the road to play New York followed by a Western Conference clash between Oklahoma City and Denver.

One of the biggest showdowns in college basketball this week takes us to the Big Ten for a Tuesday night clash between Ohio State and Michigan State. Later in the week on Thursday nigh Memphis will square off against Louisville in the AAC in a battle of ranked teams.
