Big Ten Battles Highlight Week Football Betting Slate

While Ohio State appears to be on the fast track to claiming the Big Ten East Division title, two key matchups on Saturday’s college football betting slate should go a long way towards determining who the Buckeyes would face in this year’s conference championship game. The betting odds for these games have been posted by 5Dimes.

Saturday’s action gets started with Minnesota going on the road to face Nebraska as a an 11-point underdog. The West Division Golden Gophers are 4-2 straight-up in conference play, while the Cornhuskers will try to pick up the pieces from last week’s 59-24 loss to Wisconsin as 5-point road underdogs that dropped them to 4-2 in the division title race. Nebraska is just 1-4-1 ATS in its last six conference games at home.

The other half of the race to the West Division title sends the Badgers on the road to face Iowa. Wisconsin has the inside track to the Big Ten Championship Game with a 5-1 record in conference play and it will close out its regular season against Minnesota on November 29. The Hawkeyes are still in the hunt at 4-2 with a season-ending matchup against Nebraska in their final game. The Badgers have been listed by 5Dimes as 9.5-point road favorites on the current betting odds for this clash. They are just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against Iowa, but they have covered in the last two meetings.

Turning to Week 12 in the NFL, things get started with 7-3 Kansas City going on the road as an 8-point favorite against the winless Oakland Raiders on Thursday night. The betting odds for the total in this game have been set at 43. The Chiefs knocked off Seattle last Sunday 24-20 as slight 1-point home favorites to pull into a tie with Denver for the lead in the AFC West. They are now 8-2 ATS this season, which is the best record in the AFC. The total has stayed UNDER in 14 of the last 18 meetings between these division rivals.

Another division clash this Sunday takes us to the AFC East, where the 2-8 New York Jets come off a bye to face Buffalo as 4.5-point road underdogs. The total in this matchup has been set at 40. The 5-5 Bills’ playoff chances took a major hit with last Thursday’s 22-9 loss to Miami as 6-point road underdogs. Buffalo comes into this week’s division tilt with a 2-4 record both SU and ATS in its last six home games against the Jets.
