Blue Jays Remain Top Odds Option for Week

Fresh off of a sweep of the New York Yankees, the Toronto Blue Jays are the hottest team in all of baseball with wins In 11 of their last 12 games and in each of their last eight games. Toronto should be a heavy favorite in all three of their home games against the Oakland A's this week.

Toronto is a -200 favorite in Tuesday's series opener according to online sportsbook Bovada with Drew Hutchison drawing the start. Kendall Graveman gets the unenviable position of starting against the hottest lineup in baseball as a +170 underdog. The Blue Jays are 7-1 on the runline over their current eight-game win streak.

After getting swept by the Pittsburgh Pirates and losing the opening game of their three game home series against the Washington Nationals, the Los Angeles Dodgers have now lost four straight games.

The Dodgers turn to their aces to stop the bleeding this week with Zack Greinke taking the mound on Tuesday and Clayton Kershaw set to start on Wednesday. Greinke is a -165 favorite against Joe Ross and the Nationals at +145. The Dodgers are 6-1 in Greinke's last seven starts.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are 12-3 over their last 15 games with four straight wins, and they'll be looking to cut into their deficit in the NL Central on the road for a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals this week.

Jeff Locke starts for the Pirates on Tuesday and is a +140 road underdog at Bovada against Carlos Martinez and the Cardinals at -160. Pittsburgh is 5-1 in its last six games against the Cardinals but 0-6 in its last six games at St. Louis.

The NFL preseason has its first full day of action on Thursday with six games on the betting card. Among the top games to watch for Thursday night are New Orleans at Baltimore, Green Bay at New England and Dallas at San Diego.

It will be interesting to see how Bill Belichick uses his quarterbacks in the Patriots game with Tom Brady set to miss the first four games of the regular season due to suspension.
