College Football Week 9 Top Odds Matchups

There’s only one ranked matched on tap in Week 9 of the college football season, as No. 9 Notre Dame visits No. 21 Temple.

Both teams may be in the Top 25 but the oddmakers at 5Dimes aren’t expecting a particularly close game after listing the Fighting Irish as a 10-point road favorite.

The Irish have had a couple of weeks to prepare for the Owls and last took the field on October 17 when they defeated USC 41-31 as a 6-point favorite. Notre Dame scored 17 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to claim the victory as running back C.J. Prosise had a big game with 143 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Temple improved to 7-0 last week with a 24-14 upset win over East Carolina as a 2.5-point underdog. The win was the Owls' eighth straight, during which they are 6-2 ATS.  At home the Owls are 6-2 SU and 5-3 ATS in their last eight, but as a home underdog they’re only 3-9 SU and 6-6 ATS in their last 12.

Notre Dame is a solid 7-1 both SU and ATS in their last eight games, but they’ve been dreadful on the road lately. In their last seven road games the Irish are 1-6 SU and 3-4 ATS.

In the SEC West this weekend No. 19 Mississippi tries to keep pace when they face cellar-dwellers Auburn as 7.5-point road favorites at 5Dimes.

The Rebels got past Texas A&M 23-3 as a 6.5-point favorite last week. Quarterback Chad Kelly had an up-and-down game with two touchdowns and three interceptions, but the defense picked him up by holding Texas A&M to 192 yards of offense and forcing three turnovers.

Auburn is coming off a 54-46 quadruple overtime loss to Arkansas as a 7-point underdog. By failing to cover the spread the Tigers dropped to 1-11 ATS in their last 12 games.

Both of the Rebels' losses this season have come on the road and in their last nine road games they’re 2-7 SU and ATS. The Tigers have lost six straight home games ATS with a 4-2 mark SU.

Auburn has dominated this matchup recently with a 5-1 record SU and ATS in their last six versus Mississippi. The Tigers have also won five straight home games against Auburn with a 4-1 ATS mark.

In the Big 12 this weekend No. 12 Oklahoma State tries to maintain their unbeaten record when they take on Texas Tech. The Cowboys are a 3-point road favorite at 5Dimes.

The Cowboys were the latest team to beat up on Kansas last week in a 58-10 victory as a 33.5-point favorite. That was Oklahoma State’s ninth straight win with a 6-3 record ATS.

The Red Raiders got bombed by Oklahoma 63-27 last week as a 14-point underdog.

In their last six games as a road favorite the Cowboys are 6-0 SU and 4-2 ATS, while the Red Raiders have lost five in a row as a home underdog with a 3-2 ATS mark. Oklahoma State has won six in a row versus the Red Raiders while going 5-1 ATS, and they’ve 3-0 SU and ATS in their last three games at Texas Tech.
