Lions Home Underdogs vs Packers Thursday

The Green Bay Packers will try to rebound from another disappointing upset loss Thursday night when they face the suddenly surging Detroit Lions.

The Packers may have lost four of their last five games, but they’re still a 3-point road favorite at online sportsbook Bovada. Last week Green Bay was a 7.5-point favorite but came up well short in a 17-13 loss to Chicago. Aaron Rodgers passed for 202 yards with a touchdown and an interception and Eddie Lacy rushed for 103 yards on 17 carries in the loss.

Detroit is on a three-game winning streak after pummeling Philadelphia 45-15 as a 3-point favorite last week. Matt Stafford threw five touchdown passes and Calvin Johnson hauled in eight passes for 89 yards and three touchdowns.

The Lions and Packers clashed just a few weeks ago in Week 10. The Packers were a 10.5-point home favorite but Detroit came out on top in an 18-16 upset victory. Stafford and Rodgers each had a pair of touchdown passes as Detroit snapped a 24-game losing streak in Green Bay.

Playing at home has been the deciding factor in this series for the last few seasons. In the last six matchups between Green Bay and Detroit the home team is 5-1 SU and ATS.

The Lions are a surprising 3-1 SU and ATS in their four games against Green Bay, which includes a pair of wins at home. Even with those three losses the Packers still own an impressive 16-4 record SU and 13-7 mark ATS in their last 20 games against Detroit.

Overall the Packers are 3-2 SU and ATS on the road this season. They’ve also played three of their last four road games UNDER the posted total. Detroit is 3-1 SU in their last four home games and 2-2 ATS. As a home underdog the Lions are 1-6 SU and 3-4 ATS in their last seven games.
