March Means Madness for Basketball Betting

The month of March is underway, so let the madness begin. Starting in the NBA, the battle in the Eastern Conference between Indiana and Miami for the top spot in the standings is starting to look like it will go all the way down to the wire.

Through Sunday night the Pacers had won five straight games, and the Heat’s winning streak reached seven games with Saturday’s 112-98 victory at home against Orlando. The Bovada NBA betting odds for that game had Miami favored by 14 points, so it ended as a PUSH.

On Monday night LeBron and company will host Charlotte as 11.5-point favorites on the Bovada current NBA betting lines for the game. The Heat will then be tested on the road with stops at Houston on Tuesday and San Antonio on Thursday. Indiana will try and extend its streak against Golden State at home on Tuesday followed by road games at Charlotte, Houston, and Dallas later this week.

Oklahoma City’s lead in the Western Conference remains at a game and a half after posting back-to-back victories over Memphis and Charlotte this past weekend. The Thunder will be back in action on Tuesday night against Philadelphia at home in what could be some of the highest basketball betting odds we have seen this season.

The college hoops regular season winds down this week in anticipation of next week’s major conference tournaments. The No. 1 Florida Gators return to the court on Tuesday night against South Carolina with the SEC regular season title already in hand. They ran their conference record to a perfect 16-0 with this past Saturday’s 79-61 romp over LSU as 12-point home favorites on the college basketball odds. It was the first time Florida covered a betting line in its last four games.

Syracuse’s late season slide continued with a 75-56 loss to Virginia as a 4-point road underdog this past Saturday. The Orange are now 1-3 straight-up in their last four games and 0-4-1 against the spread in their last five contests. They will try and right the ship this Tuesday night at home against Georgia Tech.

The No. 2 Wichita State Shockers completed their perfect 31-0 SU run through the regular season with a 68-45 rout of Missouri State this past Saturday. It was the fifth straight time they covered a double-digit college basketball betting line as favorites.
