NBA Home Teams Perfect: Weekly Betting Preview

Home teams went a perfect 8-0 SU to kick off the 2013 NBA playoffs, and all eight will look to take a commanding 2-0 series lead when each plays Game 2 of its series this week.

The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies in blowout fashion (112-91) in Game 1 and the Brooklyn Nets did the same to the Chicago Bulls (106-89). Both the Grizzlies and the Bulls will get a shot at redemption in Game 2 on Monday night. Los Angeles is a 5.5-point favorite and Brooklyn is a 4.5-point favorite Monday, both at Bovada.

Three more series will play their second game Tuesday when the Milwaukee Bucks visit the Miami Heat, the Boston Celtics (+6.5) visit the New York Knicks (-6.5), and the Golden State Warriors (+8.0) visit the Denver Nuggets (-8.0) with all odds provided by 5Dimes. Golden State lost star David Lee to a season-ending injury in Game 1.

Game 2 action concludes on Wednesday with the following slate (lines provided by Bovada): Houston Rockets at Oklahoma City Thunder, Atlanta Hawks (+7.0) at Indiana Pacers (-7.0), and Los Angeles Lakers (+9.0) at San Antonio Spurs (-9.0). San Antonio is now 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS in its last six games against the Lakers.

Thursday features three Game 3’s: Miami at Milwaukee, Brooklyn at Chicago, and the LA Clippers at Memphis.

The Vancouver Canucks clinched a playoff spot Saturday night, and next they’ll try to clinch the Northwest Division going up against the Western Conference’s top two teams this week. Vancouver hosts the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday night and then the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night. Chicago has continued its relentless assault on the league with a 34-5-5 record this season while the Ducks have cooled off considerably since their 22-3-4 start with a 5-8-2 run over their last 15 games heading into Sunday. The Canucks are a -120 home favorite Monday against Chicago (+100) at 5Dimes.

Two of baseball’s hottest teams collide in a three-game series starting Monday when the Oakland A’s visit the Boston Red Sox. Oakland’s AJ Griffin is a +116 road underdog going up against Felix Doubront and the Red Sox (-126) at Fenway Park at 5Dimes. Oakland is a perfect 8-0 SU in its last eight games against Boston.
