NFL Week 17 Slate: Best Betting Matchups

With a little help the Arizona Cardinals can potentially clinch home-field advantage throughout the playoffs this weekend if they can get past the Seattle Seahawks.

Arizona has won nine straight following last week’s 38-8 drubbing of Green Bay as a 6-point favorite. Carson Palmer passed for 265 yards with two touchdowns, but the Arizona defense was the star with nine sacks, an interception and three fumble recoveries.

Despite covering last week the Cardinals are only 5-4 ATS during their winning streak and they’re a 7-point favorite at online sportsbook Bovada this weekend.

Seattle is coming off a surprising 23-17 loss to St. Louis as an 11.5-point favorite. That loss snapped a five-game winning streak both SU and ATS for the Seahawks.

In Week 10 Arizona upset Seattle 39-32 as a 3-point road underdog. In the last five matchups between these NFC West rivals the visiting side is 4-1 SU and ATS. However, in their last six home games against Seattle the Cardinals are 6-3 SU and ATS.

After getting hot at just the right time Houston Texans will be bound for the playoffs with a win over Jacksonville on Sunday. Houston is 6-2 SU and ATS in their last eight games and they’re a 7-point favorite versus the Jaguars. Last week they hammered Tennessee 34-6 as a 3.5-point favorite behind a three-touchdown performance from QB Brandon Weeden.

The Jaguars got four touchdown passes from Blake Bortles last week but it wasn’t enough in a 38-27 loss to New Orleans as a 2-point underdog. It didn’t help that the Jacksonville defense allowed the Saints to gain 537 total yards of offense.

In Week 6 the Texans defeated the Jags 31-20 as a 2.5-point underdog. That was the Texans' third straight win SU and ATS against Jacksonville. In their last 10 against the Jags Houston is 8-2 SU and 6-4 ATS. Jacksonville is one of the worst teams in the league on the road at 1-15 SU and 6-8-2 ATS in their last 16 games.

Other than Arizona the hottest team in the NFL right now may be the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs have won nine straight as well and have a chance at the AFC West title if they can defeat Oakland and get some help with the Broncos.

The Chiefs edged Cleveland 17-13 last week and failed to cover the 11.5-point spread. Even with the ATS loss they’re still 7-2 ATS in their last nine games.

Oakland posted a 23-20 overtime win over San Diego last week, but also failed to cover as a four-point favorite.

In Week 13 the Chiefs scored 20 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to beat Oakland 34-20 as a 3-point road favorite. Kansas City is 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five games against Oakland and at home they’ve won two in a row SU and ATS. Before those two wins the Chiefs has dropped six straight at home SU and seven in a row ATS at home against the Raiders. Kansas City is a 7-point favorite at Bovada.
