Thursday Betting Preview: Thanksgiving

The Dallas Cowboys and the Detroit Lions have their annual home games on Thanksgiving coming up on Thursday, with both teams listed as betting favorites.

The Cowboys host the Washington Redskins as a 7-point favorite at the Bovada sportsbook. After downing the Baltimore Ravens 27-17 as a 7-point favorite last week Dallas has won nine in a row straight up and against the spread.

Washington routed the Green Bay Packers 42-24 as a 3-point favorite last week to improve to 6-1-1 SU and 7-1 ATS in their last eight. They faced the Cowboys in Week 2 and were upset 27-23 as a 3-point home favorite.

With the Week 3 victory Dallas is 5-2 SU and 4-3 ATS in their last seven versus Washington. The Redskins are 3-1 SU and ATS in their last four in Dallas and 8-1 ATS in their last nine.

Detroit lines up with the Minnesota Vikings as a 3-point favorite at Bovada on Thanksgiving. The Lions are 5-1 SU and ATS in their last six after defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars 26-19 as a 6-point favorite last week.

Minnesota snapped a four-game losing streak SU and ATS last week with a 30-24 win over the Arizona Cardinals as a 1-point favorite.

Detroit and Minnesota met in Week 9 and the Lions pulled off a 22-16 win as a 5-point road underdog. For totals bettors all the trends are pointing UNDER. Minnesota is 6-2 UNDER in their last eight road games, Detroit has gone UNDER in four straight, and the UNDER is 5-1 in the last six between Detroit and Minnesota.

The late Thanksgiving game sees the Pittsburgh Steelers visit the Indianapolis Colts as a 9-point road favorite at Bovada.

Pittsburgh got past the Cleveland Browns 24-9 last week as an 8-point favorite to snap a four-game losing streak. They’re still only 2-4 SU and 2-3-1 ATS in their last six road games and 1-3 SU and ATS in their last four as a road favorite.

The Colts will be missing quarterback Andrew Luck due to a concussion. They are 3-1 SU and ATS in their last four after a 24-17 win over the Tennessee Titans as a 3-point favorite.

As a home underdog the Colts have been unreal for bettors at 10-2 SU and 11-1 ATS in their last 12 games. They do have trouble with Pittsburgh though, with a 1-4 SU mark and 2-3 ATS record in their last five against them.
