Weekly Sports Betting Preview
The NBA is counting down the days until the end of its regular season, while the NHL playoffs are now in full swing, and the action on the diamond continues this week with a full slate of games on the sports betting menu.
The Philadelphia 76ers can do themselves a favor as they try to clinch a playoff berth in the NBA by defeating the red-hot Indiana Pacers on Tuesday at home, where the Sixers will be slight favorites. As well the New York Knicks hope to remain in one of the final playoff positions in the East and will be looking for a victory over the visiting Boston Celtics on Tuesday.
On Wednesday it’s the Houston Rockets needing a win over the Dallas Mavericks to stay in front of the Phoenix Suns for the final playoff spot in the West; the Suns are in tough at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Utah Jazz are in the mix in the West as well and they have a key NBA betting matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers on tap.
NHL betting fans have three games to wager on Tuesday night, with the Florida Panthers in New Jersey to play the Devils with the series knotted at a game apiece. As well, Nashville will try to grab a commanding lead in their Western quarterfinal against the Detroit Red Wings in the Motor City, and Phoenix is in Chicago for Game 3 with that series also squared at one game apiece.
Both the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Vancouver Canucks trail their first-round playoff series 3-0 and could be eliminated when they resume NHL betting action on Wednesday night. The Canucks will try to upend the Kings in Los Angeles as they fight for their playoff lives, while the Penguins are up against a strong Flyers team in Philadelphia.
On the diamond, the Boston Red Sox are coming off a winning series against Tampa Bay and they go right at it again on Tuesday as they start a series with the Texas Rangers in MLB betting action.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Dodgers have been the best team out of the gate and they meet the Milwaukee Brewers in a series this week. As well, the St. Louis Cardinals are up against the Cincinnati Reds on the MLB betting lines in a series in Missouri this week.
