Las Vegas - Just a quick warning about following trends blindly. They DON'T always cash. Great example was this past Saturday when the Hawaii trend blew into the handicapping universe. The Rainbow Warriors had covered 11 of their last 12 home openers, and were getting a big fat PLUS NINE points against Vanderbilt. Easy money right? WRONG! The Commodores stormed Honolulu and didn't stop until they flew back home to Nashville with a GINORMOUS 63-10 blowout.

Las Vegas - Don't like to take a mediocre team like Arizona (59-67) against a really good team, Philadelphia (72-56), but after looking at some numbers, gotta jump. And the reason I'm jumping is the Diamondbacks talented lefty Zac Gallen. Coming into the 2022 season, Gallen's 10-18 record was trending toward ugly. He has done a complete 180, and is sitting on a 9-2 mark heading into tonight. But the numbers that made me stand at attention are his last four starts.

Las Vegas - If you just read that Kevin Durant is coming back to the Nets and saw that their odds to win the NBA title have just dropped, DO NOT BITE! Brooklyn was sitting at around 8/1 before KD decided to ask for a trade. When he did, the odds jumped as high as 25/1 and 30/1 in some spots. Now that Durant has decided to return, the odds have dropped back down to 7/1 at FanDuel and DraftKings and even as low as 6/1 at betfair and Paddy Power.
