barnsley
Las Vegas - If you are looking for a YUGE return on your wager, like putting up $100 to win back $920, you might wanna take a look at the Barnsley/Chelsea game in the fifth round of the FA Cup. But then again, it might be throwing good money after a bad team. I'll lay out the facts, and you can decide.
Chelsea was kinda scuffling under manager Frank Lampard, sitting ninth in the Premier League table and 11 points off the top. So, they turned to Thomas Tuchel, and the arrow is pointing UP! Tuchel was brilliant in his last two stops, guiding Paris Saint-Germain to a 95-13-19 record and Borussia Dortmund to a 68-23-17 mark. Since taking over at Chelsea, the Blues have not lost and have given up only one goal in four games. These teams played last September in London at Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea obliterated the Tykes, yes, the Tykes, SIX to ZERO! This match will be in South Yorkshire at Oakwell Stadium in Barnsley, where they've been playing since 1888, but don't think that home field will be any help. However, Barnsley does have a pretty cool logo badge, with a miner, his pit lamp hanging from his neck, holding a pick axe, and on the other side, a glass-blower supporting a blow-pipe. And if you're wondering what a Tyke is, it's basically anyone from Yorkshire.
History lesson over. And despite the fact that we LOVE the logo, and baseball's Billy Beane owns a piece of Barnsley, gotta drop a small wager on Chelsea 'cause there's no way the Blues lose at Oakwell.
Skating on to the ice up in Canada, gonna try Winnipeg over Ottawa. The Jets are coming off four straight games against Calgary, winning two and losing two, and will be thrilled to see another uni. Actually, they'll be close to delirious with the Senators coming to town. These teams played back-to-back-to-back in January, with the Jets winning twice at Ottawa, 4-3 and 4-1, and 6-3 back in Winnipeg. Look for the Fly Boys to complete the 4-bagger and snag another W tonight.
