Las Vegas - Brandon Woodruff was off to a solid start, winning five of his first eight games. Then he went down in late May with an ankle and a problem called Raynauds phenomenon. Reynaud is an issue that causes decreased blood flow to the fingers. In some cases, it also causes less blood flow to the ears, toes, nipples, knees, or nose. This happens due to spasms of blood vessels in those areas. The spasms happen in response to cold or stress. We can rule out cold since it will be in the low 70s in Milwaukee this afternoon. Woodruff jumped back into the rotation after a month, started twice, won both and allowed only one earned run over 11 innings. Pittsburgh's Zach Thompson has not made it out of the 5th inning in his last two starts, lost both and is 0-2 against the Brewers this season. And that 0-2 consists of 8 earned runs in 8 eight innings with 10 hits. OUCH! Gotta jump on the Brew Crew for the money.
