CFP playoffs
Las Vegas - If you're a history buff and looked at Michigan's work in the bowl games, one word comes to mind. UGLIFIED! The Wolverines come in on an ugly 0-5 run, and are just 3-12 since 2003. Ouch. However, this is a different breed of Wolves. They pitched a 13-0 perfecto this season and had the third-best defense in America. They lost a Heisman Trophy candidate in RB Blake Corum, but Donovan Edwards stepped in and killed it. The offense is solid and nasty, and has given away ONLY 7 turnovers all season. Even though his numbers are not off the chart, QB J.J. McCarthy is more than capable of making plays to win this game through the air. J.J. threw for 2,376 yards with 20 TDs and only 3 INTs. Back to the nasty. TCU's defense gave up 205 yards on the ground to Kansas State and 232 to Baylor. Now they have to fight a front five of Michigan that won the Joe Moore Award as the BEST offensive line in college football. That's gonna be tough to stop for an army of Horned Frogs that allowed 149.5 yards a game and ranked No. 90, NINETY, nationally in rush defense success rate. We know that Michigan was blown away by Georgia last year, 34-11, in the Orange Bowl, but that was a group of Dawgs that had an historically great defense, with FIVE players going in the 1st round of the NFL draft. Very Nervous because everyone is picking the Wolverines to cover. Not sure about -7.5 but WILL take the money line. Why? Michigan is ONLY 25-2 straight up the last two years. And if for some strange reason, the Wolverines are down after the 1st half, we'll drop a multiple Benjamin BOMB on 'em to win the 2nd half. Why? Michigan has a +206 point differential after halftime. That's PLUS TWO HUNDRED SIX!
Heading over to the ATL for the Peach Bowl, and MAN, is this a tough one. So much goodness on each side. The Bulldogs are 2nd nationally in scoring defense giving up 12.8 points per game, while the Buckeyes are 13th, allowing 19.2 ppg. Ohio State is 2nd in scoring offense with 44.5 points per game, while the Dawgs are ranked 11th at 39.2 ppg. As usual, the Georgia defense is fabulous, but they have not seen a QB like C.J. Stroud. Tell me more Eck. Stroud led the nation in passer efficiency rating, throwing for 3,340 yards with 37 TDs and 6 INTs. And he is NO one season wonder. Last season he threw for 4,435 yards with 44 TDs and 6 INTs. If my math is correct, without the calculator of course, that is 81 TDs and 12 INTs the last two years. Speaking of last year, the Dawgs defense was like the WALL in Game of Thrones. NO ONE got by it. But this year, they've allowed some stuff. Missouri and Kent State both moved the ball and LSU piled up over FIVE HUNDRED YARDS passing. Now C.J. is in town. Everyone is shooting poison arrows at Ohio State and head coach Ryan Day, but C'MON. Day is 45-5 since coming to Columbus in 2019 and that works out to 90%! Did need the calculator for that one. And no one does it better. Not Lincoln Riley (85%). Not Kirby Smart (83%). Not Dabo Swinney (81%). Not Nick Saban (80%). NO ONE! Thinking Buckeyes to cover, and will buy the hook to +7, then also gonna try the Dawgs on the money line.
