Las Vegas - If you're wondering why the Raiders are -7 points over the Rams this Saturday, it looks like Jon Gruden wants to ROLL! If you didn't catch the Vegas game against the Seahawks, Gruden left Nathan Peterman in for the ENTIRE game! Don't think I've seen that in a week one exhibition game in like, FOREVER! Peterman was pretty sharp, completing 29 of 39 for 246 yards, and LV gobbled up 158 yards on the ground. Then we looked at the Rams first game against the Chargers, and they EXPLODED for SIX points. Obviously, Sean McVay could care less about the preseason, which is why his spread record is just 6-6-1, while Gruden is a money-maker at 23-12-3. McVay started Devlin 'Duck' Hodges at QB and followed with Bryce Perkins. What & Who? No sign of Matthew Stafford. Not sure if we'll see a Stafford sighting, so check during the week, because if we do, that PLUS 7 looks kinda tasty.
On the baseball board, gonna roll out to Cincinnati and try the Reds with Vladimir Gutierrez over the Cubs. This is the first year at the show for Gutierrez and it has been going quite well. The kid from Cuba owns an 8-3 record with a 3.95 ERA, and his last three starts (19 innings, 4 earned runs, 15 Ks) have all been wins. Sure Kyle Hendricks has a sweet 13-5 record, but that was when the Cubs were the Cubs. Rizzo gone! Bryant gone! Baez gone! Kimbrel gone! Pederson gone! Chicago lost ELEVEN in a row heading into last night's game, and can not see a way for this skeleton crew to post a W. Cincy for the money!
