Where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain!!!
Las Vegas - Looks like most of the folks in the handicapping community are all over Alabama to avenge a two point loss (23-21) back in November at home against Oklahoma. NOT this guy. Neither team played well in that game and three 'Bama turnovers were the key to Oklahoma's victory. Since that game, the Sooners beat Missouri 17-6 and LSU 17-13. Not exactly overwhelming but defensively sound, which is Brent Venables calling card. Last season, Oklahoma crushed the Crimson Tide in Norman, 24-3. And if you go back a few years, when Venables was the defensive coordinator for Dabo Swinney at Clemson, they won the National Championship, beating 'Bama 44-16. We understand the revenge angle, but after looking at the Tide's last three games, there's nothing to suggest that they have a pathway to victory. They destroyed a cupcake Eastern Illinois team 56-0, struggled with a below average Auburn squad 27-20, then were blown away in the SEC title game by Georgia 28-7. As if the Sooner's defense needs more good news, they get R Mason Thomas back for this tussle. R, which does not stand for anything, led Oklahoma with 6.5 sacks and will cause all sorts of problems off the edge for Tide QB Ty Simpson. Gimme Oklahoma, and you can sing with me, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain, where the wind comes right behind the rain. You don't have to sing this last sentence. Where the defense is money in the Bank of Benj.
Also gonna throw a few chips at Sooners QB John Mateer for an Anytime TD at +$145.
