Las Vegas - All the talk about the SEC being the beast, the best conference in the country, occasionally makes me nauseous. No doubt the top teams are for real. Georgia, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Alabama, Oklahoma and Vandy are top shelf. So, let's look at A&M's almost perfect season. They beat Auburn (5-7), Mississippi State (5-7), Florida (4-8), Arkansas (2-10), LSU (7-5), Missouri (8-4) and South Carolina (4-8). Then the Aggies lost to Texas to close the season. A&M is a really good team, but not a great team. Not saying that Miami is a great team, and not saying the ACC is better than the SEC, but we like the edge at QB. After coming over from Georgia, Carson Beck has been a rock for the Hurricanes and his last four starts have been otherworldly. We're talking about a completion rate of almost 79%. We're talking about 1,125 yards for an average of 281 per game. We're talking about ELEVEN TDs against only one INT. Yea, we know that A&M has one of the toughest defenses in the country, but Miami ain't too shabby on D either. They rank sixth in scoring defense (13.8 points), seventh in rushing defense (86.8 yards) and 11th in total defense (277.8 yards). Not expecting the Hurricanes to blow away the Aggies, but they should be able to cover 3.5. Make sure you get the HOOK!
