Be careful of the college football demon ... OPT-OUTS!
Las Vegas - Opt-outs are the main focus when handicapping the bowl games, and it's THE major story in the USC/TCU matchup. TCU had a solid year, posting an 8-4 record, but that was with starting QB Josh Hoover at the controls. Hoover was close to amazing the last couple of years, gobbling up 7,421 yards with 56 TDs. Hoover is GONZO! Now they turn to backup Ken Seals, a kid that has completed only 14 passes in TWO YEARS, for 121 yards with one TD and one INT. That's a REALLY big deal, or, a REALLY big drop off. On the other side of the field, the Trojans QB Jayden Maiava WILL be ready to roll, even without a couple of his best receivers. Maiava completed 66% of his passes for 3,431 yards and 23 TDs this season. Southern Cal also has a horse at RB in King Miller who has averaged over 100 yards per in his last seven games. Still nervous about the opt-outs, so not thrilled about laying six and a hook. Gimme the Trojans on the money line plz.
If you can find an Over/Under prop on USC's Maiava for TD passes, usually 1.5 TDs, we would go Over. And maybe a few pennies on TCU RB Jeremy Payne for an Anytime TD at +$105.
