A Hat Trick would be nice!!!

Las Vegas - Get out your shades and sunscreen for a noon start at the Orange Bowl between Oregon and Texas Tech. The Ducks opened -1.5 points and have inched up to -2.5. So we looked at both teams very carefully and each comes in with one loss. Oregon lost to Indiana, 30-20, and Texas Tech lost to Arizona State, 26-22. The Ducks played only one other team with a stout defense, Iowa, and they only scored 18 points against the Hawkeyes. Now they face another team that plays some wicked D. Tech's LB Jacob Rodriguez was a unanimous All-American selection at linebacker and finished FIFTH in the Heisman Trophy voting. Rodriguez is the national leader with seven forced fumbles and has 117 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and four interceptions. The Red Raiders have another unanimous All-American selection, DE David Bailey, who was second in the FBS with 13.5 sacks, that creates havoc for opposing offenses. And back to Tech's only loss against the Sun Devils. Starting QB Behren Morton did NOT PLAY in that game, or the following week against Oklahoma State. Morton came back against Kansas State and in his last five games, has passed for nine TDs and only one INT. Not gonna go crazy, but gimme Tech to cover, and of course, if you can, buy the hook to plus three.

Next up it's the Granddaddy of Them All, the Rose Bowl between Indiana and Alabama. Give Kalen Deboer and 'Bama props for beating Oklahoma AT Norman, but lemme throw this at you. They beat an Oklahoma team that was ranked 90th, YEAH, NINETIETH in offense. Indiana is a TOP TEN offense. Indiana beat two of the top five teams in the country, Ohio State at a neutral site and Oregon AT EUGENE. The Crimson Tide played only one top five team, Georgia. They squeezed past the Bulldogs in the first game, 24-21, then got embarrassed by Georgia, 28-7, in the SEC title game. Hearing chatter that Alabama has more talent than Indiana, but just reminding everyone that since Curt Cignetti took over in Bloomington, he is 24-2! Still 'Bama is 'Bama, so, not thrilled laying seven. However, gonna give the Hoosiers a ticket to the Peach Bowl, but it has gotta a money line bet.

Close it out down on Bourbon Street in New Orleans at the Sugar Bowl between two SEC powers, Georgia and Mississippi. We know all about the Lane Kiffin drama but it seemed like it didn't affect Ole Miss against Tulane. They won 41-10 and beat Tulane earlier in the season, 45-10. But we're talking TULANE! Now we're talking Georgia. These teams met back in October in Athens and the Bulldogs posted a wild 43-35 victory. That was the last time the Georgia defense gave up that many points. Actually, they have held the opposition to 20, 21, 10, 3, 9 and 7 points the last seven games. Now the Rebels could be without leading rusher Kewan Lacy (1,366 yards) and they're for sure without Joey Freshwater/aka Lane Kiffin. Giving Georgia a ticket to the Fiesta Bowl, but just in case this game mirrors the first meeting, we got the Dawgs on the money line.
