Sidney Crosby and Sir Walter Scott in the same paragraph ... WHAT?

Las Vegas - You wanna know why UCLA basketball coach Mick Cronin was screaming about all the travel his kids have to do, here's the answer. It's not the Dirty Dozen, it's the Glorious Dozen. The Bruins host Indiana today and they're pitching a 12-0 PERFECTO at home. Yeah, you know what's next, TWELVE & OH! The Hoosiers have perked up after a four game losing streak with wins over Rutgers and Purdue. However, their work on the road ain't stellar. Indy has covered only two of six and Pauley Pavilion will not show any love to the visitors. The home crowd might even remember the DISASTROUS football game this season when the Hoosiers DESTROYED the Bruins, 56-6. Ouch.

On the NHL ice, gimme the Penguins over the Rangers for a handful of chips. Sid the Kid and his Pittsburgh squad are heating up the ice, coming into tonight's game on a sweet 5-0 run. The New Yorkers are heading in the opposite direction, losing 10 of the last 12. And here's a little cross-city awkward stuff. Mike Sullivan, the current Rangers coach, spent 10 years in Pittsburgh, compiling an outstanding 409-255 record. Sullivan also lifted TWO Stanley Cups with the Pens. On the other bench, Dan Muse, who was an assistant for the Rangers the last two seasons, is now in charge of Xs & Os in Pittsburgh. Oh, what a tangled web we weave. Believe that was a quote from Sidney Crosby last year, but it coulda been from a Sir Walter Scott poem back in 1808.
