Sam Darnold to win the MVP...

Okay, now for the winner. First we looked at the records on the road. Seattle under Mike Macdonald has been exceptional the last two years, posting a 15-2 record. New England under first year coach Mike Vrabel comes to Super Sunday with a 9-0 PERFECTO on the road this season. Call it a wash. Then we looked at the QBs. Sam Darnold completed 323 of 477 passes (67.7%) with 25 TDs and 14 INTs for 4,048 yards. Darnold has been even better in the playoffs, completing 37 of 53 passes (69.8%) with 4 TDs and 0 INTs for 470 yards. Drake Maye completed 354 of 492 passes (72.0%) with 31 TDs and 8 INTs for 4,394 yards. Maye has slipped a bit in the playoffs, completing just 43 of 77 passes (55.8%) with 4 TDs and 2 INTs for 533 yards. We're calling this one a wash as well. These two teams played each other last season in New England and Seattle squeezed out a 23-20 win. Darnold did not play, he was with the Vikings. Jacoby Brissett was the starting QB, because Maye did not step in until week six. Vrabel did NOT coach, but Macdonald did.

So, where's the edge. Took a close look at strength of schedule and the Seahawks have a distinct edge. They play in the NFL's BEST division, NFC West, along with the Rams (12-5) and the 49ers (12-5). Seattle also had four other playoff teams on the schedule. The Jaguars (13-4), Texans (12-5), Steelers (10-7) and Panthers (8-9). The Patriots live in the AFC East with one superb team, the Bills (12-5), and two stinkers, the Dolphins (7-10) and the Jets (3-14). Edge Seahawks.

Of course, everyone wants to sprinkle a few bucks on the Super Bowl and we will as well. But this guy ain't thrilled laying four and a hook, so it's gonna be Seattle on the money line. Enjoy.
