Yaxel yes or no is pretty important??? So is UConn's 18-1 tourney spread record. You make the call!
Las Vegas - Quick note before we get to the pick. On Saturday, we had the two team teaser and UConn was a winner in the first leg. Then we had Arizona in the 2nd leg. Of course, we ALWAYS buy back the other side looking for the middle and just risking the juice. Obviously, we didn't hit the middle, but wound up losing just a few pennies.
Now the men. Watching Michigan DESTROY Arizona was pretty scary, but as usual, we have a few thoughts. Everyone was saying that this was the REAL championship game, but Connecticut should and will have something to say about that. Then we noticed that Arizona's best players, Koa Peet and Brayden Burries, both FRESHMEN, were spooked. Then when 'Zona's PG Jaden Bradley was whistled for two early fouls, it looked like the Wildcats had no idea what to do and fell apart. On the other bench, with the exception of freshman Braylon Mullins, all of UConn's kids are either juniors or seniors. The big stage does NOT scare them. They expect to be playing on Monday night for the crown. Like Alex Karaban who will be playing in his THIRD title game. Then there's the stat that keeps whispering in my ear. Once again, my great friend and Hall of Famer, Donnie Blackjack, Dr. 21, Count(ing) Dracula told me, UConn is now 18-1 in the last 19 NCAA tournament games, and, and, EIGHTEEN & ONE against the spread. Still, the Wolverines scare me. It'll be interesting to see if the Big Ten player of the year, Yaxel Lendeborg plays, and if he does, how effective he will be. Lendeborg sprained his MCL against Arizona, and with one awkward step, it tears. Seeing the Huskies at +7.5 at FanDuel and it's a buy. But a light, light, very light buy. Also seeing Michigan -6.5 at DraftKings and BetMGM if you wanna try for a seven point middle.

Las Vegas - And now for the Championship Game and that stats in the 'what have you done lately' category. Michigan (36-3) will fight UConn (34-5) for the crown. The Wolverines have won nine of their last 10 straight up and have a 4-6 record against the spread. They have gone Over six times and Under four times. The Huskies have won eight of the last 10 straight up and have a 6-4 record against the spread. They have gone Over four times and Under six times. These teams have not met this season.
