Gonna be SPICY tonight out in Denver!
Las Vegas - SPICY! That is the word for the Denver/Minnesota series after a little shoving and pushing at the end of game four. The Nuggets are down 3-1 and yet they are 10.5 or 11 point favorites depending on where you shop. Why? The answer is pretty easy. Minny has lost a total of FORTY ONE POINTS with the injuries to Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo. They also lost a combined nine rebounds per game and 7.5 assists. How are they gonna make that up? They AIN'T. Ayo Dosunmu had the game of his LIFE, scoring 43 points on Saturday. That from a guy that has averaged only around 11 ppg during his five year career. There is NO WAY Dosunmu is putting 40+ on the board again. NO WAY! And the injuries are obviously gonna shorten Minny's bench. They'll need more minutes from Naz Reid, Mike Conley and Terrence Shannon. For guys that have not played extended minutes and now have an added workload in the Mile High air, it could be a problem. At the end of the last game, Jaden McDaniels decided to throw in an uncontested layup with 1.3 seconds on the clock and the entire Denver team basically walking off the court. Nikola Jokic was NOT happy and ran down the court to get a piece of McDaniels. After the game, Jaden said, 'Clock still be running, so I'm going to go score.' UH OH. That wasn't the only issue that McDaniels put into the series. After a Game 2 win in Denver, he roasted the Nuggets individually, calling Jokic, Aaron Gordon, Jamal Murray and others 'bad defenders.' Even with Aaron Gordon hobbling, Denver could still win by 20 points. However, not thrilled laying double digits, so, even though it's gonna be expensive, we're buying the Nuggets on the money line.
