BEST division in the National League??? SURPRISE!
Las Vegas - Best division in baseball? It ain't the A.L. East or the N.L. West. Welcome to the rugged N.L. Central. EVERY team in the Central is above .500. No other division is even close. And yes, the Pirates are sitting at the bottom of the division with a 16-14 mark (not including last night). But this afternoon, they have Paul Skenes on the hill and that spells victory. After an ugly opening start when he allowed five earned runs in just one inning, Skenes has been lights out. Since that start, when he might have been a little sore from pitching in the WBC Classic, he has been lights OUT OUT! How about a 4-0 record, only three earned runs over 28 innings for a 0.96 ERA and 29 Ks. Don't really care who pitches for St. Louis and don't care about laying a big price. Gimme Skenes and the Bucs for a deposit into the Bank of Benj.
