Riders UP!

Las Vegas - Rider's UP! My racing guy, Martin Calia, tells me that there is money waiting for the Ecks & Bacon Nation in the Kentucky Oaks tonight. The Oaks is basically the Kentucky Derby for fillies, it's race #13 and post time will be 8:30 p.m. ET.

The table is yours Martin.

The Oaks is a mile and an eighth. I like the #2 horse Zany. Call me crazy but the Todd Pletcher filly is the only horse in the race that has won at the mile and an eighth distance. Pletcher has won the Oaks FOUR times and has the services of top jock Irad Ortiz Jr. That combo has clicked for 67% since the meet started last week. Zany has not worked over the track this week because Pletcher wanted to keep her in Florida at the Palm Meadows training track. The morning line odds on Zany are 4-1 and starting from the #2 post she should be able to sit a nice stalking trip. The track has been playing to runners that sit close to the lead so that’s right in her wheelhouse. So, The Oaks bet will be #2 Zany for $100, or as we like to call it, a BENJAMIN, right on the nose.

Then we lace up the skates and head to Salt Lake City for a look at the Utah/Vegas series. The Golden Knights have a 3-2 series lead and that means only one thing for the Mammoth. DESPERATION! Utah is not ready to get the golf clubs out and the Knights probably wouldn't mind coming back to Vegas for a game seven. Going prehistoric and digging a few bucks out of the wallet for the Mammoth.
