I like two horses and probably could make a case for about four more! Im sticking with a horse I tabbed in the future betting. I really like the Bob Baffert trained Potente #14. In a workout over the Churchill track this week, Potente went 5f in 57.4! The horse is sitting on a big race and his early speed will allow a good stalking trip. Also like #15 Emerging Market. The Chad Brown trainee is two for two and won the Louisiana Derby at a mile and three sixteenths. Market will have top jock Flavian Prat to guide him and he also should workout a nice trip with his tactical speed. Here is where we send in the cash. Got #14 Potente and #15 Emerging Market, both for a $100 to win, place and show.
From the track to the ring out here in Vegas where we close the night with a title fight between David The Mexican Monster Benavidez and Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramirez for the WBA & WBO titles. Let the odds talk. Ramirez holds both titles, his record is 48-1 and he has been fighting at Cruiserweight for quite some time. Benavidez is 31-0 and is moving up from super middleweight to Cruiser and adding some 25 pounds. Being the champ and fighting a smaller guy should be the winning ticket for Zurdo, which, if you're interested, means left handed. But our guys in Vegas have Benavidez listed as a gigantic -$500 favorite. That's all we need to know. The Mexican Monster throws a ton of punches and his hand speed is gonna dazzle Gilberto. Normally, we don't like monsters, or, high prices, but this one is gonna pay a sweet dividend.
