Las Vegas - Before we drop the pick, gotta give a YUGE SHOUT OUT to my horse guy, Martin Calia. My man advised the thousands in the Ecks & Bacon Nation to drop a full Benjamin ($100) on Iron Honor in the Preakness yesterday to win/place/show. And we did. Here's the math.  Iron Honor pulled in $460 to place and $330 to show for a total of $790. Take away $300 for each bet and we took a sweet  $490 profit from the betting window. THX Martin!
Now hoops. You know the best two words in the world of sports ... GAME SEVEN BABY! Okay, that's three words but you get the drift. The Pistons will scrap against the Cavaliers for the right to meet the Knicks in the Eastern Conference Final. Detroit has a few very important check marks on its ledger. Obviously, home court advantage in Motown is the first check. The Pistons were 31-9 at Little Caesars during the regular season, the best record in the Eastern Conference, and have won five of seven in the playoffs. On the other bench, Cleveland has just one win on the road in six playoff games. Speaking of benches, this is the BIGGEST check mark for me tonight. In the last game, Detroit's bench provided 48 points from seven players while the Cavalier's bench was able to find only 19 points from four players. GINORMOUS check mark for the Pistons and the reason why we're gonna drop a handful of chips on Detroit to advance. And if you don't wanna lay 4.5 points, c'mon with me and buy the Pistons on the money line.
