Las Vegas - Quick start in St. Louis where we have the Cardinals over the Pirates. St. Loo will send Michael McGreevy to the hill and this kid is twirling. And one of the reasons why the Cards are sitting at 27-19 and just a game back of the Cubs in the N.L. Central. McGreevy's last four starts have been exceptional, allowing only two earned runs over 24 innings for a gorgeous 0.75 ERA. Gimme St. Loo for the money.
On the NBA playoff board, if anyone has a thought on how to stop Wemby, you better call Thunder coach Mark Daigneault right now. We know that the Spurs have won five of six against OKC and you gotta think they have their number. So, what is the difference from game one to game two? Believe that it HAS TO BE Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. SGA was busy buying $200,000 watches for each teammate and collecting his MVP award before the game started. TOO much stuff. TOO much noise. And it led to Shai's historically horrible shooting night (7-23 overall and just 2-7 from downtown). Totally understand that the Spurs are the youngest team in the NBA with young legs, but man, the starters all played YUGE minutes and might be a little gassed tonight. We looked back at last year's title run and OKC pitched a 7-0 PERFECTO in the playoffs after a loss. SEVEN & OH! Still worried about Wemby, so instead of laying 6.5 points, gimme the Thunder on the money line.
