Las Vegas - Yeah, I live in Vegas. Yeah I like hockey. But the Golden Knights AIN'T my team. As all my millions know, MY team has to have an N.Y. in front of the name. Not that I dislike the Knights, I don't. Been to a number of games here in Vegas and it's a freaking carnival. But the carnival is a few days away, since they come back to Vegas on Saturday night, and the ice in Raleigh is gonna be a problem. The Hurricanes still play a very tight, very nasty defense, but now they find the net in bunches. They scored 10 goals in the last two games against the Canadiens, winning 4-0 and 6-1. The 'Canes have won 13 of the last 14 overall and nine of the last 10 at home. Give the Knights credit for knocking off the Avalanche, the Presidents' Trophy winner with 121 points, but Colorado wasn't the same team that rolled through the regular season. The Avs did not have Cale Makar for most of the series and their BEST, Nathan MacKinnon, was hurt and did not score a goal after netting a league leading 53 during the season. Carolina comes in at full strength, with goalie Frederik Andersen stepping up. Andersen is first among active goaltenders with eight career playoff shutouts and has three in the current playoff run. It's not gonna be easy, so while we're on the Hurricanes, the bet in the opener will just be a tickle.
On the MLB board, gonna grab the Brewers with Kyle Harrison over the Giants. Harrison has been lights out the last three starts, feeding the rest of the National League nothing but BAGELS over 18 innings. He has won five in a row and has not allowed an earned run since early May. Gimme the Brew Crew for the money.

Carolina has won nine of the last 10 and has gone Over three times and Under seven times. Vegas has won eight of the last 10 and has gone Over three times and Under six times with one push.
