You ready for the World Cup? We are!
Las Vegas - Gotta take a pass on the NYK tonight because this is the most NERVOUS I have been since Willis Reed limped out on the court against the Lakers in game seven of the 1970 NBA Finals.
However, we are very, very, VERY excited about the World Cup and will start the party with a look at the Mexico/South Africa game tomorrow. Mexico, along with the USA and Canada are hosting the Cup and there will be 87,500 insane fans packed into the Estadio Azteca Stadium in Mexico City for the opener. El Tri, which translates to 'the three colors,' have been wicked good in the run up to the Cup. They have played eight games, won six and had two draws. They have allowed only two goals in eight games with six clean sheets. We call it a shutout. I call it a bagel. They beat a solid Serbia team in the final game before starting Cup play, 5-1. Now lemme tell you about altitude. Mexico City sits 7,349 feet above sea level. Remember Denver, the Mile High City? Well this is almost half a mile higher than Denver. The South Africans have been training in Mexico for like 10 days to acclimate. AIN'T gonna be good enough. The Mexican team has been training there for their entire life. Vamos Mexico.
