Cinderella (Cape Verde) is goin' home!

Las Vegas - Everyone is loving the Cinderella story of Cape Verde and their spectacular goalie Vozinha, but his time comes to an end this evening. No way, no how, no chance against Lionel Messi and Argentina. So, are we gonna lay $650 to win back $100 on La Albiceleste to win? Nah. We looked over Argentina's last 10 matches, including the three in the Group Stage at the World Cup. Specifically, we checked the halftime results. Messi and his guys are 10-0 at the half. Yeah, TEN & OH! So, we lay $200 to win back $100 on Argentina to win the 1st half.

We were looking at Egypt to beat Australia mainly because the Pharaohs have one of the best players in the world, Mohamed Salah. Turns out that Salah is a doubt due to a hamstring. They have also listed Hamdy Fathy (groin), Hossam Abdelmaguid (head), Mohamed Abdelmonem (ankle) and Ahmed El Fotouh (hamstring) as doubtful. So we gotta pass.

On the MLB board, we're looking at the Nationals over the Pirates. Washington is sitting at 45-43 just 1.5 games out of a Wild Card spot. The Nats send Foster Griffin to the hill and this guy has been dynamic. If you're not familiar with Griffin, it's probably because he spent the last three years in Japan. Last season with the Yomiuri Giants, he was 6-1 with a 1.62 ERA. Back in D.C this season, he has an 8-2 record with a 2.93 ERA. And it looks like he is getting stronger with every start, giving up just four earned runs over the last 31 innings (1.16 ERA). Gotta grab Washington for a deposit into the Bank of Benj.
