Dancing up to Motown!
Las Vegas - Day off for the World Cup so we'll dance up to Motown and grab the Tigers over the A's. Most of the preseason chatter had Detroit as the top team in the A.L. Central Division, but it has been a struggle. The Tigers are 40-50 (not including yesterday) and have had to deal with two-time Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal missing over a month. The good news is, they are heating up, winning five of the last six and have found a gem in Troy Melton. It's a small sample, but Melton has started seven games, owns a 4-1 record and has allowed only 10 earned runs over 44 innings for a gorgeous 2.05 ERA. The A's send Jeffrey Springs to the hill and he has not won a game since April 14. That would be 0-7. And Springs has had an awful time on the road recently, giving up 14 earned runs over the last 14 innings which works out to a FAT 9.00 ERA. Always enjoy the music in Motown and will enjoy making another deposit into the Motown branch of the Bank of Benj.
