Las Vegas - Nick Martinez is gonna be 36 years old on August 5 and has been around since 2014. Yet his work this season is the BEST of his career. Martinez spent his first four seasons with the Rangers and his 17-30 record was ugly. Then he went to Japan for four years where he compiled a 33-23 mark. Came back to the States and went 10-8 in two years with the Padres. Then he worked in Cincinnati for two years with a dead even 21-21 record. NONE of those numbers would suggest what is happening in 2026. Martinez is sitting at 10-2 with a fabulous 2.45 ERA and has won seven of eight at home inside the Trop. And his last five starts have been very tasty, allowing just five earned runs over 28 innings for a gorgeous 1.61 ERA. Get your sunscreen out because we're all over the Rays.
