Frogs for breakfast and Mets for a late lunch!

Las Vegas - Gonna fly over to Dublin, Ireland for our first college football pick. TCU opens up against North Carolina, just like last season, and we're looking at the Horned Frogs. They opened at -6.5 points and the line has jumped to -9 and even -9.5 at some books. Not thrilled about laying that number, so would suggest taking the Frogs on the money line at around -$350 for a small taste. But my big bang is gonna be on OVER 46.5 points and I'll tell you why. Last year, TCU busted up the Tar Heels 48-14, and while they're both different teams, head coach Sonny Dykes likes to open the season with a BANG. Dykes took over the Xs & Os in Fort Worth back in 2022 and here are the scores in each opening game. TCU beat Colorado 38-13 in his first season, lost to Colorado 45-42 in the second season, beat Stanford 34-27 in his third season, then the 48-14 romp over Carolina last season. So the Frogs have averaged 40.5 points per game in their openers under Dykes. And with Bobby Petrino now running the offense at Chapel Hill for Bill Belichick, all we need is one TD from the Heels and an extra point to go Over 46.5. Gotta go HIGH and we're throwing a nice size pile of chips on the table. Of course, if there's a rain storm in Dublin, we would scale back the bet dramatically.
On the MLB board, there have not been many bright spots for the Mets this season (60-74), but young stud Nolan McLean looks like the real deal. McLean is sitting with a 9-8 record for a lousy New York squad, but it's his last three starts that has my eyeballs dancing. He has allowed just two earned runs over the last 18 innings for a 1.00 ERA. Houston is sending out Cristian Javier and his last two have been ugly, giving up nine hits and five earned runs in just eight innings. Gimme the Mets for the money.

Detroit has won two of the last 10 and has gone Over four times and Under six times. The Dodgers have won six of the last 10 and have gone Over four times and Under six times.
