Eric Morris brings his offensive magic from Denton to Stillwater!

Las Vegas - Is it possible to bring in 91 new players and still find a W? Maybe, maybe not, but we are expecting a ton of points. Eric Morris was hired by Oklahoma State to revive a once proud program that had blown up in the wrong direction in Mike Gundy's last two seasons. The Cowboys were 3-9 in 2024 and a VERY UGLY 1-11 last season. So Morris gets the keys to the kingdom in Stillwater after creating some magic at North Texas. What kinda magic? The Mean Green posted a 12-2 record and closed the season with a crazy 49-47 W against San Diego State in the New Mexico Bowl. The offensive stars, QB Drew Mestemaker, RB Caleb Hawkins and WR Wyatt Young all followed coach Morris to Stillwater. Mestemaker led the nation with 4,379 passing yards and also had a 68.9% completion rate and 34 TDs. Hawkins gobbled up 1,434 yards in the ground (5th in the nation) and Young had 1,264 receiving yards (3rd in the nation). Normally, we would be suspect of a program with such an enormous turnover, but these kids know how to get it done. On the other side of the field, Tulsa averaged 27 points per game under coach Tre Lamb in the second half of last season. And since Oklahoma State's defense is still a big giant question mark, the Golden Hurricane should get close to or over 30 points. We're expecting at least 35 points from the new and improved Pokes, so the play is Over 58.5 total points for the money.

On the MLB board, gonna try the Cubs over the Marlins. Clay Holmes should get the start for the Cubbies and he has been lights out after missing almost two months with a fractured fibula. That happened to his leg, but his right arm has been electric. His first start for Chicago was lousy (4 innings, 4 earned runs), but his last four have been ridonkulous. Holmes has thrown 25 innings and allowed one teeny tiny earned run for a non-existent 0.36 ERA. If it's Holmes, the wallet is wide open.

Unfortunately, the Cubs have switched to Javier Assad and he has not started a game since August 4, so we're out.
