Las Vegas - Friday night lights are usually reserved for high school football in the state of Texas, but tonight, we have a delicious Big 12 intrastate matchup in Lubbock. Texas Tech (2-0) hosts Houston (2-0). We looked at both sides of the field and this is what we found. Both teams played Oregon State and both teams beat the Beavers. The Red Raiders posted a 35-24 victory, while the Cougars won 33-20. Looked at both of the QBs work and found that Tech's Will Hammond was 20/27 for just 189 yards against OSU, while Houston's Conner Weigman was 20/30 for 305 yards. The Raiders rushed for only 155 yards while the Cougars rumbled for 228 yards. Also note that Tech QB Hammond tore his ACL last October and does not seem to be that dangerous with his legs at the moment. Last week, he took off running six times and wound up with -22 yards. Yeah, MINUS 22 yards! Got revenge on the table from last season when Tech beat Houston 35-11. Not gonna get crazy, but will drop a few pennies on the Coogs to cover at +8.5 which we found at the Hard Rock sportsbook. That +8.5 disappeared. Now seeing +7.5 everywhere. Woulda liked eight and a hook, but still on Houston. Maybe just a sliver of the original bet.

Back on the MLB board for a look at a game tonight in the 'what have you done lately' category. The Astros (77-76) are hosting the Braves (89-64) tonight. Houston has won three of the last 10 and has gone Over three times and Under seven times. Atlanta has won four of the last 10 and has gone Over seven times and Under three times.

These teams have not met this season (not including last night).
