1st Q in Columbus, 4th Q in Pasadena!
Las Vegas - Ryan Day LOVES to beat the snot out of the Mid-American Conference. The last four times that Ohio State took on a MAC team, the combined total score was Buckeyes 201 points, and 18 points total for Ball State, Ohio U., Akron and Western Michigan. That's an average winning margin of 50.5 points per game. Are we gonna lay 52.5 points? Nah. Are we gonna lay 35.5 points to win the 1st half? Nah. Are we gonna lay 14 points to win the 1st Q? Oh yeah. You know that Ohio State is gonna come out roaring after losing the game and the number one ranking to Texas last week. Expecting a 21-0 score at the end of the 1st Q.
Then we swing out West for a look at a Big Ten matchup between UCLA and Purdue. Bob Chesney took over in Los Angeles after spending two years as the head coach at James Madison. His record at JMU was 21-6 and he has the Bruins off to a 2-0 start. Like UCLA to win the game, but not laying 14 points. Will take 'em to win the 4th Q at -3 points. The Bruins might start slow, but in their first two games, they outscored Cal 21-0 in the 4th Q and San Diego State 21-10. If UCLA is behind going into the 4th Q, then BOMB 'em with both hands. If they're ahead going into the 4th, we would probably just make it a tickle, depending on how far ahead.
