Going to battle with the new & improved Minutemen!
Las Vegas - Found a spot that is very obscure, but we think it's an absolute gem. Looking at UMass over Eastern Michigan. Joe Harasymiak took over at Massachusetts last season and his Minutemen struggled to an OH and 12 record. Did they fire Harasymiak? Nah. Good thing. UMass bounced back from the 0-12 record and has ripped off FOUR straight wins to open the season. And they're not just winning, they're WINNING! Rolled over Rutgers on the road, 37-21, beat Sacred Heart 37-10, rocked Stonehill 36-14 and busted up Sacramento State 35-6. Granted, you can't find an Ohio State, Oregon or Notre Dame on the schedule, but the winning average is 18.5 points per game. Then we looked at Eastern' schedule and found they both played Sacramento State. We gave you the UMass score, which was 35-6. Eastern picked up the W against SacTown with a 28-17 effort. Probably will not happen, but wouldn't it be AMAZING if the Minutemen went from 0-12 to 12-0! What are the odds? ASTRONOMICAL is one word that comes to mind. So, gonna roll with the Minutemen and buy the money line instead of laying the points.
On the MLB playoff board, we're gonna try the Guardians with Parker Messick over the White Sox. Messick's left arm is one of the reasons that Cleveland won the A.L. Central. Since a July 4 start against the White Sox, Messick has allowed only 21 earned runs over 83 innings for a tasty 2.28 ERA. Parker beat the Sox at home back on September 16 and we expect another W for the big lefty. Gimme the Guards in the opener.
