Gimme Fast Freddy Peralta to even the series!
Las Vegas - Freddy Peralta was scuffling with the Mets up until the end of July with an ugly 5-9 record. The Rays took a shot, hoping that Peralta would bring his 2025 arm to the table. An arm that posted a 17-6 record with a sweet 2.70 ERA. Well, as they do with most things, Tampa Bay struck gold. Since coming over to the Rays, Peralta has won five of seven with a solid 3.25 ERA. The other arm tonight is the big lefty Parker Messick for the Guardians. Messick was amazing in the second half of the season and didn't allow more than three earned runs in 15 starts. However, he has struggled in his first two postseason starts, allowing six hits and four earned runs in just 6.2 innings against the White Sox. If Tampa won the opener, then we would still roll with the Rays, but slice the bet in half. If they lost game one, then we would certainly add a little juice to the wager.
