College Football Week 14 Betting Preview
The Big Ten boasts a few interesting matchups this week, starting with a ranked matchup between the No. 10 Indiana Hoosiers and the No. 18 Wisconsin Badgers.
The Hoosiers may own the higher rank but the Badgers are a 14.5-point home favorite at Bovada Sportsbook.
The Badgers’ schedule so far has been a chaotic one with five games canceled due to COVID-19. Last week’s matchup against the Minnesota Golden Gophers was the latest casualty. In three games, Wisconsin is 2-1 straight up and against the spread. Last time out on November 21, they lost to the Northwestern Wildcats 17-7 as a 7-point favorite. At home, Wisconsin has won seven straight while going 5-2 ATS.
Indiana is 5-1 SU and 6-0 ATS on the season following last week’s 27-11 win over the Maryland Terrapins as an 11.5-point favorite. As an underdog, the Hoosiers are a solid 7-1 ATS in their last eight, and on the road they’re 5-1 ATS in their last six.
Wisconsin has dominated this matchup for a decade. The Badgers have won 10 straight against the Hoosiers with an 8-2 record ATS.
Spartans have covered spread in only 1 of last 7 at home
Sticking with the Big Ten, the Ohio State Buckeyes visit the Michigan State Spartans as a 23.5-point road favorite at Bovada.
Ohio State had its game against the Illinois Fighting Illini canceled last week. The Buckeyes last played on November 21 and beat Indiana 42-35 as a 21-point favorite. On the road, the Buckeyes have won eight straight at 6-2 ATS.
The Spartans are coming off a 29-20 upset win over Northwestern as a 13.5-point underdog. At home, Michigan State has struggled lately with a 3-4 record SU and a 1-6 mark ATS in its last seven.
The Buckeyes have won four straight against the Spartans while going 3-1 ATS. On the road against the Spartans, the Buckeyes have won seven straight at 6-1 ATS.
Hokies have won last 2 contests as home underdog
Finally, the Clemson Tigers are also big road favorites this week when they visit the Virginia Tech Hokies. At Bovada, Clemson is a 22-point favorite.
Clemson beat up on the Pittsburgh Panthers 52-17 as a 24-point favorite last week to improve to 8-1 SU and 3-6 ATS on the season. Clemson has posted five straight OVERs for totals bettors, and as a road favorite the Tigers are 13-1 SU and 9-5 ATS in their last 14 games.
Virginia Tech has lost three straight and four of its last five games both SU and ATS. Last time out the Hokies were upset by Pittsburgh 47-14 as a 6.5-point favorite. As a home underdog, the Hokies have surprisingly won their last two games.
Clemson has won five straight against Virginia Tech with a 4-1 record ATS.
