College Football Week 2 Betting Odds Preview
The No. 1-ranked Clemson Tigers get their season started this weekend as the ACC returns to the gridiron.
The Tigers start the campaign on the road against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. At Bovada Sportsbook, the Tigers are a 33-point favorite.
Clemson is 29-1 straight up and 20-10 against the spread in its last 30 games. On the road, the Tigers have won 11 straight at 8-3 ATS, and they’re 7-1 ATS in their last eight.
Wake Forest is 1-4 SU and ATS in its last five games. As a home underdog, the Demon Deacons are a lousy 2-12 SU and 5-8-1 ATS in their last 14.
Clemson has won 11 straight against Wake Forest with a 6-5 ATS record. Last season, Clemson crushed Wake Forest 52-3 as a 34.5-point home favorite. Wake Forest hasn’t beaten Clemson outright since 2008.
Duke 10-3 ATS in last 13 September games
Sticking in the ACC, the No. 10-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish play host to the Duke Blue Devils this weekend as a 20-point favorite.
Notre Dame has won six straight and five in a row ATS. At home, the Fighting Irish are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games. Overall at home the Irish have won 18 straight at 12-6 ATS.
Duke finished off last season going 1-5 SU and 1-4-1 ATS in its last six games. In their last eight games, the Blue Devils are a money-losing 1-5-2 ATS and on the road they’ve dropped three straight at 0-2-1 ATS. Surprisingly, in September the Blue Devils are 10-3 ATS in their last 13.
Notre Dame is 2-1 SU and ATS in their last three vs Duke. Last season Notre Dame defeated Duke 38-7 as a 7-point road favorite.
Longhorns huge Big 12 favorites vs Miners
In the Big 12 this weekend, the No. 14 Texas Longhorns are massive 43-point favorites vs the UTEP Miners.
Texas is only 4-4 SU and ATS in its last eight games. At home the Longhorns are 9-2 SU in their last 11 but only 5-5-1 ATS. When favored by more than 40 points, they are 10-0 SU and 5-5 ATS in their last 10.
The Miners snapped an 11-game losing streak last week with a 24-14 win over the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks as a 4-point favorite. Despite the win, they are still only 3-27 SU and 9-19-2 ATS in their last 30 games.
The Longhorns are 3-0 SU and ATS in their last three vs the Miners. They last met up in 2016 and Texas won easily 41-7 as a 31-point favorite.
