2020 NFL Draft: Props Roundup
Yesterday we focused on NFL draft quarterback props. Today we’ll take a look at a few other props that bettors may be interested in before Roger Goodell starts announcing picks on Thursday night.
As we wrote previously, Joe Burrow is a heavy favorite to go first overall in the draft. What about the second and third picks?
At Bovada Sportsbook, Ohio State defensive end Chase Young is a big favorite to go second overall to the Washington Redskins at -3000. Following Young are Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa at +850 and Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert at +1200.
Young favored to go second, Okudah third in NFL draft
On the prop for third pick at Bovada, the favorite to go to the Detroit Lions is Ohio State cornerback Jeff Okudah at EVEN money. He’s followed by Tagovailoa at +350 and Auburn defensive tackle Derrick Brown at +450.
If you think you can predict the top three picks spot on, there’s a prop for that at Bovada. Their prop for the exact outcome of the first three overall picks has a strong favorite with Burrow, Young and Okudah at -160. With 18 different choices, the odds are all over the place and if the draft doesn’t go the way the oddsmakers expect, it could potentially be a profitable bet.
You can also bet on the first player taken at almost every position in the draft. That’s more than half a dozen bets with most positions having a strong favorite from the oddsmakers.
For example, the first linebacker to be drafted may not be worth betting on if the oddsmakers are right. The favorite is Clemson’s Isaiah Simmons at -10000. If for some reason Simmons isn’t the first linebacker off the board, LSU’s Patrick Queen and Oklahoma’s Kenneth Murray are both listed at +1400.
Oddsmakers have Swift as first RB off the board
For the prop for first running back drafted, Georgia’s D’Andre Swift is the favorite at -175. If you think Swift could be passed over, right behind him are Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor at +200 and LSU’s Clyde Edwards-Helaire at +450.
As we’ve gone through the player props, you’ve seen the same schools pop up numerous times. You can also bet on that by picking which schools will have the most players selected in the first round.
These are mostly props between schools that regularly clash on the gridiron. A few of these props include LSU (+210) vs Alabama (-320), Auburn at +0.5 (-135) vs Georgia (-105), Clemson at +0.5 (-310) vs Oklahoma (+205), and Clemson at +0.5 (-320) vs Ohio State (+210).
