3M Open Betting Preview
The PGA Tour heads to Minnesota this week for the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities.
This is one of the newer events on tour having debuted in 2019. At the Bovada Sportsbook the favorite this week is Cameron Young at +1200.
Young is still looking for his first career PGA Tour win, but he has finished in the Top 10 in his last two tournaments. That includes tying for eighth in the British Open last week and tying for sixth in the John Deere Classic.
Following Young on the odds list are Tony Finau and Sung-Jae Im at +1400.
Finau is the defending champion of the 3M Open. Last year at TPC Twin Cities he shot 17-under-par to beat Emiliano Grillo and Im by three strokes. Finau will be looking to get back on track this week after missing the cut in his last two tournaments, the British Open and the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Since winning the Mexico Open in April Finau has not finished in the Top 20 and missed the cut three times in seven events.
Im finished tied for second at last year’s 3M Open but hasn’t posted a Top-10 finish on Tour since May. He tied for 20th place at the British Open last week and in his last eight events has missed the cut four times.
Matsuyama, Straka follow on odds board for week
Rounding out the rest of the Top 5 on the odds for this week are Hideki Matsuyama at +1800 and Sepp Straka at +2000.
Matsuyama tied for 13th place at the British Open last week and hasn’t posted a Top-10 finish on Tour since finishing fifth at the PLAYERS Championship in March.
Straka could be a good value bet this week. He recorded his first win of the year earlier this month at the John Deere Classic and followed that up by tying for second last week at the British Open.
The only other former winner of the 3M Open in the field this week is Cameron Champ, who won in 2021. Champ is a +6000 longshot to win again and has been a non-factor in most tournaments he played in this year. In 16 events this year Champ has missed the cut 10 times and posted only one Top-10 finish.
The odds on a few other notables this week include Emiliano Grillo, Cam Davis, and Justin Thomas all at +2500.
