Basketball Betting: Weekend Setup
Conference tournaments wrap up around college basketball this weekend, including in the ACC where Duke is expected to battle Miami for the conference crown and the better seed at the NCAA Tournament. That action highlights a sports betting slate for the weekend that also includes the NBA plus the latest stop for the Sprint Cup Series.
Duke opened as the +105 favorite at 5Dimes to win the ACC Tournament this week, with Miami at +350, North Carolina at +500, N.C. State at +900, and Virginia at +1100 on those college basketball odds. The championship game of the event is on Sunday, and the favored matchup has No. 2 Duke taking on No. 1 Miami. The Blue Devils beat the Hurricanes 79-76 in their last meeting on March 2 but couldn't cover the 7.5-point spread at home for their supporters at the sportsbooks in that game. Nine of the past 10 games between Duke and Miami have turned out to be OVER results on the totals.

The Big Ten, SEC, and Atlantic 10 conferences will also stage their championship games on Sunday as the NCAA Selection Committee prepares to announce its bracket for March Madness. The Big 12, Big East, Conference USA, Mountain West, WAC, and Pacific-12 conferences will all be wrapping up their tournaments on Saturday.
Over in the NBA the top game on Friday night has the Miami Heat looking to run their winning streak to 21 in a row when they face the Bucks in Milwaukee. LeBron James and company are only 3-4 SU and 1-6 ATS over their last seven games against the Bucks, including a 104-85 loss in Milwaukee as a 4.5-point road favorite on December 29. The UNDER has paid out for totals bettors in just one of their last four meetings.
Friday's slate also includes the Lakers at Indiana, with Los Angeles' Kobe Bryant possibly out for that contest with a sprained ankle. As well, Chicago is at Golden State on Friday night, while Denver hosts Memphis, and the Thunder get a visit from Orlando. Oklahoma City is 2-0 SU and ATS over its last two games against the Magic.
Saturday's top NBA betting matchup has Memphis at Utah, while on Sunday's it's New York at the Clippers, Golden State at Houston, and Atlanta at Brooklyn to highlight the slate along with Miami at Toronto. The Heat have picked up a SU victory in each of their last 10 games against the Raptors, but they went just 5-5 ATS in those contests.
Finally, NASCAR odds action this week takes place at Bristol Motor Speedway, with the Sprint Cup Series drivers competing in the Food City 500. Jimmie Johnson is the current +275 favorite at 5Dimes to win the Sprint Cup championship this season, but Kyle Busch is the +600 favorite to win the Food City 500 on Sunday afternoon. Brad Keselowski is at +750 on those race odds, with Johnson set at +800 to get the victory.
