British Open, MLB and UFC Betting This Week
Golf takes center stage on the sports betting calendar this week as the top players in the world converge at Royal Lytham & St Annes for the British Open. As well, there's a full slate of games on the diamond, a UFC card up in Calgary, Week 4 action around the CFL, and the German Grand Prix and Edmonton Indy for auto racing betting fans.
Tiger Woods is listed as the favorite on the golf odds at the sportsbooks to win the British Open this week; that would be his first trophy at the event since he won the tournament in back-to-back years in 2005 and 2006. Woods is set as the 13/2 favorite to finish the week in first place and claim his first major title since the 2008 U.S. Open.

The top series of the weekend is then Texas at the Angels, with the Rangers trying to hold off Los Angeles for first place in the AL West division standings. Other marquee matchups on tap around MLB this weekend include Atlanta at Washington, the Dodgers at the Mets, and the White Sox on the road against Detroit.
In the Octagon this week it's UFC 149: Faber vs. Barao in Calgary on Saturday night, with Renan “Barao” Pegado set as the -200 favorite to knock off Urijah Faber (+160) in their UFC Interim Bantamweight Championship bout. Undercard action has Hector Lombard the -310 favorite Saturday in his fight against underdog Tim Boetsch (+240).
On the gridiron the CFL offers up games on each of Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night this week, including unbeaten Saskatchewan playing in Calgary on Thursday. The Edmonton Indy and the German Grand Prix will then take place on Sunday; Fernando Alonso holds a 129-116 lead on Mark Webber in the F1 standings.
