CBB Weekend Betting: ACC Clash Leads Slate
The college basketball regular season concludes this weekend with three Top 25 matchups on the slate, highlighted by an always entertaining clash between the No. 17 Duke Blue Devils and the No. 5 North Carolina Tar Heels.
Duke is coming off a 75-70 win over the Florida State Seminoles in which they failed to cover the 7.5-point spread. That was their fourth straight loss against the spread and they’re a lousy 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games.
North Carolina lost to the Virginia Cavaliers 53-43 on Monday as a 3.5-point road favorite. That snapped a four-game winning streak both straight up and ATS. At home the Tar Heels have a 17-game winning streak going, during which they are 11-5 ATS.
Duke and North Carolina last met on February 9 and the Blue Devils posted an 86-78 win as a 2.5-point home favorite at the Bovada sportsbook. Duke has owned the Tar Heels of late, at 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS in their last six, and they are 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five visits to North Carolina.
The other two ranked matchups on Saturday are also ACC battles with the No. 19 Notre Dame Fighting Irish facing the No. 8 Louisville Cardinals, and the No. 25 Miami Hurricanes visiting No. 15 Florida State.
The Irish have won six in a row SU at 4-2 ATS after defeating the Boston College Eagles 82-66 as a 15.5-point favorite on Wednesday.
Louisville has dropped two of their last three following an 88-81 upset loss to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Wednesday as a 4-point favorite. The Cardinals are 7-0 SU in their last seven home games and 15-1 SU in their last 16, while going 11-4 ATS.
On January 4, Notre Dame defeated Louisville 77-70 as a 1.5-point home favorite. Overall the Fighting Irish have won their last three versus the Cardinals both SU and ATS.
Miami last played on Monday when they lost to the Virginia Tech Hokies 66-61 as a 1.5-point road favorite. That snapped a four-game winning streak and dropped them to 2-4 SU and 3-3 ATS in their last six on the road.
Florida State fell to Duke 75-70 as a 7.5-point underdog on Tuesday and they sport a lackluster 2-3 record SU and ATS in their last five. However, they have won 20 in a row at home at 17-3 ATS.
Earlier this season the Seminoles crushed the Hurricanes 75-57 as a 3.5-point road underdog. In their last four at home versus Miami the Seminoles are 3-1 SU and 2-1-1 ATS.
