CFB Conference Title Games Betting Preview
College football conference championship week kicks off Friday night with the Pac-12 championship game between the Utah Utes and the Washington Huskies at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
At Bovada Sportsbook the Huskies are a 4.5-point favorite. Washington defeated Utah 21-7 as a 4-point favorite on September 15. Washington heads into the rematch having won three straight, but is 1-2 against the spread, and is 1-6 ATS in the last seven. Utah is 7-1 straight up and 6-2 ATS in its last eight games, and against Pac-12 opponents is 6-1 SU and ATS in the last seven.
The ACC championship game features the Clemson Tigers and Pittsburgh Panthers at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. At Bovada Sportsbook the Tigers are a hefty 25.5-point favorite. Clemson has won 12 straight but is only 6-6 ATS. However, the Tigers are a profitable 5-2 ATS in their last seven. Pittsburgh is 6-1 ATS in its last seven and 4-1 ATS in its last five as an underdog. The last time Pittsburgh and Clemson met up, in 2016, the Panthers shocked the Tigers 43-41 as a 21.5-point underdog.
In the Big Ten championship game, the Ohio State Buckeyes face the Northwestern Wildcats at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The Buckeyes are a 14-point favorite but head into this matchup 2-6 ATS in their last eight. Northwestern has won seven straight conference games, and is 13-3 ATS in its last 16 vs the Big Ten. Ohio State has won six straight vs Northwestern while going 5-1 ATS.
Sooners lost to Longhorns as favorite in October
In the Big 12 championship game, rivals square off when the Oklahoma Sooners face the Texas Longhorns at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The Sooners are 7.5-point favorites but in October they lost to Texas 48-45 as a 7-point favorite. Oklahoma was only 4-7-1 ATS this season and is 0-6 ATS in its last six vs Texas. The Longhorns are 9-2 SU and 5-5-1 ATS in their last 11 and are 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 vs Oklahoma.
In the SEC championship game, the Georgia Bulldogs face the Alabama Crimson Tide at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Alabama is a 13.5-point favorite and has won 14 straight while going 9-4-1 ATS. In last year’s national championship game, Alabama edged Georgia 26-23 as a 3-point favorite. Georgia heads into the rematch 11-1 SU and 7-5 ATS in its last 12.
Finally, in the Conference USA championship game, the UAB Blazers and Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders meet up for the second week in a row. The Blue Raiders are a 2.5-point home favorite, and on November 24 they upset UAB 27-3 as a 3-point underdog. Middle Tennessee has won seven straight at home at 6-1 ATS, and is 7-2 ATS in its last nine overall. UAB has lost its last three games ATS and in this matchup the home team has won three straight SU and four straight ATS.
