College Football Saturday Betting Odds
Three ranked matchups highlight the Saturday college football schedule, including the season opener for the defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs start the season ranked No. 3 in the nation and they open their title defense at home against the No. 11 Oregon Ducks. At Bovada Sportsbook, the Bulldogs are a 17-point favorite.
En route to the national title last season, the Bulldogs were 14-1 straight up and 10-5 against the spread. At home, Georgia has won 11 straight but hasn’t always been a good bet at 4-7 ATS. In their last 30 home games, the Bulldogs are 28-2 SU and 12-18 ATS. With their smashmouth defense, they’re unsurprisingly 8-3 UNDER for totals bettors in their last 11 games.
Oregon was 10-4 SU and 5-9 ATS last season. That included going 1-3 SU and ATS in its last four games. On the road, the Ducks were 3-2 SU and ATS, and in their last 10 road games, they’re 5-5 SU and ATS. When listed as an underdog, Oregon has lost three straight both SU and ATS.
Buckeyes big home favorites vs Fighting Irish
Also on the Saturday schedule is a ranked matchup between the No. 5 Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes. At Bovada, the Buckeyes are 17-point favorites.
Ohio State was 11-2 SU last season but killed bettors at 6-6-1 ATS. In their final six games of the season, the Buckeyes were a money-losing 2-4 ATS. At home, they have won six straight at 4-2 ATS, and in their last 29 home games, they’re 28-1 SU and 15-14 ATS.
Notre Dame was 11-2 SU and 9-4 ATS last season. That included going 7-1 SU and ATS in its last eight games. The Fighting Irish have been a solid road bet with nine straight road wins and a 7-2 ATS record. However, as a road underdog, Notre Dame is 3-7 SU and 5-5 ATS in its last 10.
The Buckeyes and Fighting Irish last met up in the 2016 Fiesta Bowl and Ohio State won 44-28 as a 4.5-point favorite. Ohio State has won three straight both SU and ATS against Notre Dame.
Bearcats underdogs on the road at Arkansas
In the final ranked matchup on Saturday, the No. 23 Cincinnati Bearcats face the No. 19 Arkansas Razorbacks as a 7-point road underdog.
Cincinnati was 13-1 SU and 8-6 ATS last season with its only loss coming against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the College Football Playoff semifinals. On the road, the Bearcats have won eight straight at 4-4 ATS. In their last six games against opponents from the SEC, Cincinnati is 1-5 SU and 2-4 ATS.
Arkansas was 9-4 SU and 8-4-1 ATS last season. That included going 5-1 SU and 3-2-1 ATS in its last six games. At home, the Razorbacks are 6-1 SU and 4-3 ATS in their last seven. When favored, they’re 8-1 SU and 5-3-1 ATS in their last nine.
