College Football Week 12 Betting Preview
The Big Ten, Big 12 and SEC all boast high-profile ranked matchups in Week 12 that could heavily influence the upcoming College Football Playoff.
Let’s start in the Big Ten where the No. 18 Iowa Hawkeyes host the No. 17 Minnesota Golden Gophers as a 3-point favorite at Bovada Sportsbook.
Iowa is coming off a 24-22 loss to the Wisconsin Badgers as a 7.5-point underdog and now stands at 6-3 straight up and 4-5 against the spread on the season. The Hawkeyes are 5-1 SU but only 2-4 ATS at home in their last six. For totals bettors, they’ve been a solid UNDER play at 6-1-1 UNDER in their last eight.
Minnesota remains undefeated at 9-0 SU and is 6-2-1 ATS after upsetting the Penn State Nittany Lions 31-26 as a 6.5-point underdog last week. The Gophers have won six straight ATS and against Big Ten opponents they’re 7-0 SU and ATS in their last seven.
Last season Iowa defeated Minnesota 48-31 as a 7-point favorite. Iowa has won four straight against Minnesota at 3-1 ATS, and at home the Hawkeyes have won eight straight against the Gophers while going 5-3 ATS.
Sooners favored by 10 on road vs unbeaten Bears
In the Big 12, the No. 9 Oklahoma Sooners visit the No. 12 Baylor Bears as a 10-point road favorite.
Oklahoma barely got past the Iowa State Cyclones 42-41 as a 14.5-point favorite last week. In their last five, the Sooners are 1-4 ATS, and as a road favorite they’re 19-1 SU and 9-10-1 ATS in their last 20.
Baylor is 9-0 SU and 5-4 ATS after defeating the TCU Horned Frogs 29-23 as a 2-point favorite last week. As a home underdog, the Bears have won two straight and they’re 2-4 SU and 4-2 ATS in their last six.
Last season Oklahoma whipped Baylor 66-33 as a 21.5-point home favorite. In their last 22 games against the Bears, the Sooners are 19-3 SU and 10-12 ATS.
Georgia 10-4 ATS in its last 14 vs Auburn
Finally, in the SEC, the No. 11 Auburn Tigers host the No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs as a 3-point underdog.
Auburn has won five straight both SU and ATS and on the season is 7-2 SU and ATS. As a home underdog, the Tigers have won three in a row SU and four straight ATS.
The Bulldogs blanked the Missouri Tigers 27-0 as an 18.5-point favorite last week to improve to 8-1 SU and 5-4 ATS. On the road, the Bulldogs are 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS in their last seven, while as a road favorite they’re 3-2 SU and 1-4 ATS in their last five.
Last season Georgia got past Auburn 27-10 as a 13-point favorite. In their last 14 vs the Tigers, the Bulldogs are 11-3 SU and 10-4 ATS.
